Fishlips is a bar/restaurant/grill with cocktails and a live music venue in downtown Bakersfield, California. Fishlips is one of the best places in Bako for music, cocktails and food. Grammy award winning Artists have appeared at Fishlips, and also the lesser known local and out of town up and coming bands have graced the stage at this downtown Bakersfield venue. From Merle Haggard, Leon Russell, Dave Alvin and Marc Ford to local Bako favorite Mento Buru, the music is always top-notch at Fishlips. The Bakersfield Sound is alive and booming in the town that Buck Owens and his Buckaroos and Merle Haggard and his Strangers made famous worldwide. You will see a mix of these great artists on the state at Fishlips. Certain nights they feature local talent, you never know when you may see another Buck or Merle on the Fishlips stage. Fishlips is a fantastic fusion of music, cocktails and food. Created in 2000, Andrew Wilkins and Shawna Haddad Byers reinvented this wonderful venue and have redefined Bakersfield’s standards for live entertainment. Murals featuring legendary performers, signed guitars and music memorabilia grace our walls as the perfect setting for this intimate venue. Don’t let our size or location in Bakersfield fool you, the five Grammy Winners & Eight Grammy Nominee performers have all expressed or have returned for more performances.
